Genesee Country Village & Musuem
Take your place in history, just 20 miles away from Rochester at Genesee Country Village & Museum! This living history museum is the largest in New York, and one of the largest in the nation. Each of the 59 19th-century buildings has been moved to the site, restored to original condition, and furnished with period furniture and decorative arts. As you stroll through the buildings, "villagers" in period dress tell you about 1800s Genesee Country and American life. Live demonstrations of crafts and tasks of the 19th-century take place every day, including blacksmithing, cooking, spinning, tending the gardens and much more.
The museum also includes the John L. Wehle Art Gallery, North America's premier collection of wildlife and sporting art, and the Genesee Country Nature Center, which has 175 acres featuring five miles of hiking trails through woodlands, wetlands and meadows.

Seabreeze Amusement Park
Seabreeze is a great medium size amusement and water park. It may have updated quite a bit in the past few years, but it remains an old-fashioned (and less expensive) alternative to the mega-amusement parks like Six Flags, etc. (Due to its location, it can't really get any larger, so it probably won't get taken over by one of the franchises.) It's got a great mix of old classic rides (the Carousel, the Jack Rabbit, Bumper Cars...) and new rides, plus a really nice waterpark. The waterpark has fun stuff for really little kids, plus huge slides and a wave pool for the big kids and grownups, and also has a 'Lazy River' ride that's nice for parents with a baby.

JELL-O Museum
"There's Always Room for Jell-O." This is the campaign slogan of a simple gelatin dessert that today is known as "America's Most Famous Dessert." The success story is one, the result of advertising and merchandising methods, new and different, never before employed. Salesmen, well-trained, well groomed, well versed in the art of selling went out in "spanking rigs, drawn by beautiful horses" into the roads, byroads, fairs, country gatherings, church socials, and parties to advertise theirproduct. First came team-drawn wagons, to be followed by smart auto-cars. Pictures, posters, and billboards over the American landscape, as well as page ads in magazines, carried the Jell-O Girl and the six delicious flavors into the American home.
